Municipal Service Connection Application Form

Please complete the following form to connect to Municipal Water and/or Sanitary Sewer in the City of Kawartha Lakes. The $115.00 application Fee is payable within this form. The permission to connect is valid for a period of one (1) year from the date the Completed MSC form is provided to the applicant.  Service connection must be completed within the one year term.” 

Servicing Plan:

A Servicing Plan is required to be submitted with your Municipal Service Connection Application.

A Servicing Plan is required to be submitted with your Municipal Service Connection Application, as per CKL 112 and CKL 112B, and identify the size and location of the proposed service laterals, identify field verification of existing infrastructure, utilities, details of existing road and boulevard and extents of restoration required, proposed sewage servicing, proposed entrance. All existing City infrastructure must be field verified and the existing infrastructure must be confirmed in the field by the proponent and actual surveyed field measurements, materials, sizes etc. are to be identified on the design submission. We encourage you to combine the Servicing Plan with your Lot Grading & Drainage Plan for the proposed build (if required). We encourage you to consult with an Approved Service Connection Contractor regarding the proposed servicing plan.

Service connections for Commercial, Industrial and Institutional properties/uses and Fire Suppression shall be sized according to the intended use and designed and approved through the building permit process. Engineering design is required to be submitted.

Water services are not permitted in the driveway. If it is determined that service laterals must be installed, from the main to the property line, the Property Owner must secure a contractor from the City's Approved Service Connection Contractor list and confirm the service installation costs with the Approved Service Connection contractors. This agreement for the installation and payment of the service lateral in the City's Right of Way, is solely between the Property Owner and the Approved Service Connection Contractor.

Fire suppression service connections for commercial, industrial, institutional and multi residential properties shall be sized and installed in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the Fire Insurance Advisory Organization and according to the Ontario Building Code.

Service connections for commercial, industrial and institutional properties/uses shall be sized according to the intended use and engineering design required. Engineering design is required to be submitted.

Approval to connect is based on information obtained from available as-built drawings and/or site investigations. It is the responsibility of the applicant and contractor to field verify. The available as-built drawing information provided by the City provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The City does not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, content, completeness, legality, or reliability of the information provided. No warranties, promises and/or representations of any kind, expressed or implied, are given as to the nature, standard, accuracy or otherwise of the information provided nor to the suitability or otherwise of the information to your particular circumstances. Permission to commence work and connect must be obtained through the City’s Engineering & Corporate Assets Department.

Once the Fees as determined through the review of the Applications are paid to the City’s Building and Septic Division, and Engineering & Corporate Assets Department has received all supporting documentation and notification from the Approved Service Connection Contractor undertaking the work, the City grants final approval for connection.

Connection Fee $285.00

Residential Frontage Fee Watermain (to a maximum of 16 metres) $215.00 per metre of lot frontage

Residential Frontage Fee Sewermain (to a maximum of 16 metres) $270.00 per metre of lot frontage

Commercial/Industrial Frontage Fee Watermain for (to a maximum of 30 metres) $215.00 per metre of lot frontage

Commercial/Industrial Frontage Fee Sewermain for (to a maximum of 30 metres) $270.00 per metre of lot frontage
