The 2020-2021 ice season will be different than those in the past. Kawartha Lakes staff have been collaborating with provincial governing bodies and local authorities to determine the COVID-19 protocols related to arena operations. These protocols will be shared with user groups in August 2020.

In order to request ice time for the 2020-2021 season (September - March) please complete and submit this form. This request is not considered a booked contract.

Requests will be reviewed and allocated in July. Contracts are necessary for all scheduled ice facility use and will be sent out in August. Contracts must be signed and returned to the Facility Booking Office.

Please review the information below before completing a request form.

Facility Requests

To be included in the initial allocation of ice time requests must be submitted by Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

Ice time will be booked on a first come, first served basis after the initial allocation.

All requests will be reviewed by the Division in relation to the availability and suitability of facilities.Priority will be given as per the Revised Ice Facility Allocation Management Policy.

Incomplete forms (i.e. missing information, responses that include 'same as last year', no signatures etc.) will be returned to the applicant resulting in delay of approval.

Ice Rental Fees

Single Pad Facility:

Minor Rate - $129.00

Standard Rate - $154.70

Non-Prime - $117.30

Twin Pad Facility:

Minor Rate - $129.00

Standard Rate - $193.20

Non-Prime - $117.30

Non Residents - Standard rate plus 25% premium may apply.

Rates DO NOT include TAX.

24 Week Minimum Committment

All designated minor and adult groups are required to commit to a 24 consecutive week permit schedule to be completed between the Tuesday after Labour Day in September, or the regular season start date, and the end of the winter season. Exceptions to the 24 week commitment may be made when the City is unable to supply replacement ice for disruptions to regular ice time.

Billing

Following the allocation process, contracts must be signed and returned as confirmation of booking and understanding of facility rules and regulations. Once the contract is signed, there are no refunds for cancelled ice.

The City of Kawartha Lakes will pre-bill all full season ice users twice during the Winter Season (October and January). Payments for part season or single bookings are due at the time of booking.

Cancellation Procedure

Returned or unused ice will be billed at 100%. Returned contracted ice time will be posted online, if possible, if the Facility Booking Office recieves written notice of the return.

The Facility Booking Office will try to sell the times returned, however if not sold, the original group will be billed for the returned time if the ice is not rented to an alternate user.

In the event of severe weather conditions and ice time not being used, in order to not be considered billed for the ice time not used, the user group must give 24 hour notice to the Facility Booking Office following the inclement weather cancellation.

Any weather cancellations or requests to return ice must be received in writing by e mail to: facilitybooking@kawarthalakes.ca or via fax: 705-878-9388.

Smoking/vaping/use of e-cigarettes is prohibited in all City of Kawartha Lakes municipal buildings as per the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. Failure to comply with this law will immediately subject any offender(s) and their respective user-group(s) to enforcement action from Health Unit Inspectors and City of Kawartha Lakes progressive disciplinary measures.

Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages is prohibited in the dressing rooms or any other locations within the facility and/or grounds other than a licensed area. Any person, club or league that contravenes shall be liable to cancellation without notice.
